  • This is sickening

Time Magazine has hit a new low.  I became sick to my stomach when I read this article and saw this picture.

    greentime

WTF?  How can you be so insulting?  This is a slap in the face of every Marine that landed on the beaches of Iwo Jima.  Not only that, it is a desecration of the sacrifices of those Marines that gave their lives on Iwo Jima.  What the hell were those idiots at Time thinking?

“I think since I’ve been back at the magazine, I have felt that one of the things that’s needed in journalism is that you have to have a point of view about things.  You can’t always just say ‘on the one hand, on the other’ and you decide. People trust us to make decisions. We’re experts in what we do. So I thought, you know what, if we really feel strongly about something let's just say so.”  -Richard Stengel,  Time Magazine managing editor

Oh, really Mr Stengel?  Is this your way of saying that Time Magazine shits on the sacrifice of the Marines that took Iwo Jima?  Is it your way of saying that the World War II was a made up fiction that is of questionable existence that global warming is?  Or, maybe this is your way of giving the Marines and military that you despise with utter loathing the finger.

I'll leave you all with this...

    Iwo Jima

Let's not insult the memories of: Sgt. Michael Strank, Cpl. Harlon H. Block, Pfc. Franklin R. Sousley, Pfc. Rene A. Gagnon, Pfc. Ira Hayes, and PhM. 2/c John H. Bradley, USN

  • Yeah.  REMF wannabes, that formulate idealistic ideas about how the world should be, but don't really do the work making it happen.  He wouldn't know what it took to raise the flag there that day.

  • TIME mag took a serious dive when it changed managing editors in the mid 90s from James R. Gaines to Walter Issacson. for a while, TIME to me was the gold standard with respect to journalistic integrity. now newsweek is a lot better, more serious content, which is more telling on how far TIME has fallen. it was enough that i was in no hurry to renew my subscription.

there's only fingerprints and remnants of TIME's glory days. not too impressed with rick stengel that's for sure.

  • DITTO!  I have posted my comments on my xanga -  http://www.xanga.com/touchdowndon  How said that many Americans are losing all sense of true patriotism and what America really is and stands for. Our forethathers would be heartbroken over our blatant complacency and utter ignorance of what they faought for and hoped we would continue.  I fear the generations coming will not know this and our country will cease to be what it was meant to be. I have three uncles, now deceased, who proudly served in the US Navy in the Pacific in WWII, two of them were in combat more than once and at some major battles, and for a lack of better words I would tell those such as Stengal, in the figurative sense, to go to hell.
