I saw the new James Bond movie Quantum of Solace over the weekend.  I enjoyed it.  I like the direction the new Bond films are moving towards.  This movie and the previous one were much darker than previous Bond films.  This Bond is much closer to the Bond in the books.  The only complaint that I have is the choice of the Bond girls.  They were okay, but not that spectacular.

I do like the two nods they gave to past Bond films:

1. I enjoyed their nod to Goldfinger.  The scene was "leaked" months ago. 

2.  I do like how they featured the original James Bond gun, the Walther PPK. 
 

The elections are over.  We have a new president-elect (and barring anything unusual, a new president).  My guy didn't win, but I'm over it, more or less.

Time to lighten things up a bit.  I saw this article.  I am a little disappointed at his choices.  I can maybe agree on one or two of them, but really not much there.  If the list was a longer maybe there would be more selections that I could agree with.  Here's my list of the best TV/movie spaceships (in no particular order):

Congratulations America, we just elected our first African-American president, who just happens to be a Socialist.  I fear what is going to happen to my country in the next four years.
